A roof around the seating
The lounge sits within the roof footprint. Framing the furniture this way gives the terrace a clear center without filling it with additional elements.
A light roofline turns an elevated waterfront terrace into a place to pause.

A white pergola defines this elevated terrace in Pompano Beach. Below it, a dark sectional makes a simple lounge arrangement; beyond it, the waterfront remains part of the experience.
The contrast is direct: a light structure overhead and darker furniture beneath. Open louvers let the roof read as a series of lines rather than a solid ceiling. The perimeter frame gives the lounge a sense of enclosure while the sides stay open.
The photographs show how the structure relates to the house, terrace edge and seating. Decopatio’s project here is the bioclimatic louvered pergola; the surrounding terrace provides the context for the installation.

The open roof blades create bands of light and shade. Their direction is a visible part of the composition from the sofa as well as from outside the terrace.
The posts define corners while leaving the waterfront outlook visible. The edge of the terrace and its access remain part of the design conversation.
